Configuring Auction Settings

This page explains about how to configure general settings for auction products.

General settings can be configured from WooCommerce > Settings > Auctions Tab.

Auction settings are divided into three parts:

1. Global Settings

2. Bid Increment

3. Bid Packages

Global Settings

Global settings consists of the following options:

• Enable proxy bidding - Allows users to place system generated auto bids on auctions.

• Enable anti sniping - Anti sniping feature allows other users to place bids on the auction in last seconds of the auction end.

• Anti sniping start time - Anti sniping start time (in minutes) will decide when to enable the anti-sniping feature.

• Anti sniping duration - Anti sniping duration (in seconds) will extend the auction by the specified duration when user places a bid on the product, so that the other users get a chance to place a bid.

• Bidding information update duration - The time interval (in seconds) between two ajax requests to update the bid information on product page. (bigger intervals means less load for server).

• Exclude auction fields on product page - Selected fields will not be shown on the product page. For example: If you do not want to show the 'Item Condition' text on the product page, you could select 'Item Condition' from the select dropdown.

• Exclude auction fields on product shop page - Selected fields will not be shown on the product shop page. For example: If you do not want to show the 'Current Bid' text on the product shop page, you could select 'Current Bid' from the select dropdown.

• Exclude auction fields in auction widgets - Selected fields will not be shown in auction widgets. For example: If you do not want to show the 'Current Bid' text in auction widgets, you could select 'Current Bid' from the select dropdown.

Bid Increment

While creating new auction product, if you do not specify the bid increment for the auction product, then the default ranges will be used from Bid Increment settings. You can edit ranges via single click Edit button in each row, or add new range as per your requirements.

Bid Packages (Pro)

For Penny Auctions users need to buy bids beforehand. When WooAuction Software Pro plugin is installed there are 3 bid products already created which admin can see those products in WooCommerce Products area. These products are priced as 25 Bids for 25 currency units, 50 Bids for 50 currency units, 100 Bids for 100 currency units.

You can also create/edit/remove different bid packages at your own custom pricing.
